I grew up in the country in Indiana spending many hours in the woods observing animals. I got interested in photography in the 70s. I started digital photography in 2001. I started with a point and shoot with 10x zoom and was getting some good photos but realized it did not allow me enough control. I moved up to a Canon digital SLR and have been very happy with the control over the photographic process.
During the last few years I have taken photography classes at the Sonoran Desert Museum. I have attended seminars by John Shaw, J. Peter Mortimer, John and Barbara Gerlach among others. I particitated in a Photo Trek here in Tucson lead by Reed Hoffman and Kevin Gilbert. The class at the Sonoran Desert Museum on Photographing Hummingbirds is what really got me serious about the craft. I would like to thank Don Knight and John Sepp for their guidance and encouragement.
I spent 3 days in November of 2007 in a bird photography Instructional Photo Tour lead by Art Morris at Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. It was a joy meeting and learning from one of the masters. The whole group was joy to be with and much valuble information was exchanged. I would recommend one of Art Morris's IPTs to everyone.
I have had photographs published in newspapers, magazines and on web sites (other than this one). I presently have photographs and note cards in the Butterfly Gallery at 2843 N Campbell Ave in Tucson. Please stop by there when you are in town as the computer does not do the photos justice.
I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I have enjoyed creating them. Let me know what you think by signing the guestbook and leaving a message.
